We stayed here for 3 weeks in August 2019, joined at various times by friends and family. Rarely have we enjoyed a holiday so much. The house is stunning, spacious, elegant and characterful. The garden and pool are a haven to relax in and unwind. There is so much to do in Bram and the surrounds so that every day was different. Paul and Petra were lovely hosts and we very much hope to return at some stage. Happy, happy days.

The house is absolutely fantastic and hosts hospitality is superb. They care to the last detail.
On our arrival to the house after a hot cycling day we could enjoy a peaceful and refreshful afternoon rest in the garden and pool. Paul & Petra offered some cold drinks and they suggested restaurants to have dinner, one of them by the lake, at 2-3 km from Coup de Coeur, where they took us to with their private cars. On our return to the house after dinner, Paul explained the history of that house and interesting things of the area.
So, a pity we stayed only one night!

Hello,I came across your beautiful place by chance on Home and Away as I am looking for a venue to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary next year
( we married twice- in April in U.K. and June in Germany!) We spent some time last year near Carcassonne and fell in love with the area.We would like to invite some family and friends to join us for a week, probably end of June to fit in with uni holidays. Is there an advantage to booking straight through you?

Fabulous holiday in a beautiful house - 5/5 STAR
Date of Stay: 13 Aug 2016

Very stylish, well-equipped house with a beautiful garden of bright exotic flowers around a well sized pool and tumbling roses over a shady outside dining area. Petra and Paul have a wealth of information about the surrounding area and bend over backwards to help. Bram is a small town with a lovely patisserie, butchers, fishmongers, wine shop and Large Wednesday market. It also has a water park with Wake boarding. It's also only 15 mins on the train from Carcassonne.

One of the best.Rue de la Poste 10-12, Bram, 11150, France
Date of Stay: 6 Aug 2016

Bram was a little off the beaten track, a very small village/town and very quiet. However the mansion was one of the best accommodations we have stayed in. It was spacious, clean, modern with a very French feel. Our only criticism was the temperature of the pool a little on the cool side. If you love walking, there are lots of countryside and paths to walk along. You can get to Toulouse in about an hour by car and Narbone, a lovely seaside resort in a little under an hour and half. Paul and Petra were both welcoming when we arrived and really helpful when we had a few domestic difficulties, all of which were dealt with promptly. We all agreed we would love to return and for a longer stay.

    Brilliant Week. - 5/5 STAR
Date of Stay: 30 Jul 2016

We were a family group plus 3 friends and the house was perfect for everyone. The bedrooms are stunning and the beds very comfortable and the bed linen beautiful. All 14 of us being able to eat together was great. There is plenty plates , cutlery etc. The pool was very popular particularly amongst the children, and the garden is beautiful. We spent the week here without any cars and it was not a problem - the house is very close to the train station and the Canal du Midi was about a 20 min walk to a very nice seafood restaurant. Another 25 min walk and one is at a lake where there is a restaurant doing lunches, paddle boarding, wake boarding very reasonably priced and swimming for free!! The town has 2 Boulangeries, a Charcoutery and a very, very good wine shop!! Carrefour is also only a 20 min walk. Petra and Paul are absolutely delightful hosts and very helpful getting set up initially. We would love to repeat the experience. Thank you so much to our great hosts.

Great place to stay - 5/5 STAR
Date of Stay: 30 Apr 2016

We stayed for a week with four families, in total 14 people. When you walk through the gate you arrive in another world. Great place, enough room for everyone and each family their own bathroom. We were welcomed by a friend of the owners. Never too much trouble to make a reservervation or give some tips to visit places. We went to Mirepoix, Narbonne, Narbonne plage and of course Carcassonne. When you like some action you have to visit O2 Aventure! Thanks for the nice week and contact in the preperation period. I Will surely recommend this place to my friends.

Geweldige vakantie in een groot overcompleet huis ! - 5/5 STAR
Date of Stay: 23 Apr 2016

    Absolutely fantastic House ! - 5/5 STAR

No pictures could ever do this justice - its utterly beautiful and still retains comfort. It is very practical with loads of kitchen equipment. The terrace is lovely - we ate outside every day and the swimming pool area is fantastic. The house is huge - so much space for everyone. We were there at a very hot time and managed to get some extra fans - the only thing that would make if 6 stars would be a fan in each bedroom!!

We all loved it ! - 5/5 STAR
Hi Petra, We were so sorry to have missed you, but had managed to leave early as we had a long way to go. I think Victoria, our daughter had intended to leave a note in your visitors book, but in case she didnt, I just wanted to say what we thought. The whole house was truly beautiful. I appreciated the attention to detail: the Gardenia diffusers, the L'Occitaine soap, the chandeliers, the colours of the walls and linen curtaining, the embroidered bedding, the lavender, the oleanders, and all the equipment we could possibly need. How lovely to have such a relaxed approach to leaving things for others to use. The style of everything was inspiring. What an amazing vision you must have had to put together all those elements to create what you have done. We all loved it. From little seven month old Violet who is now finding life without a pool and echoey hallways very dull indeed, to Ian who could sit in the shade and loose himself in a book, Leanne who could lie on a sunbed all day, Nathan who loved the kitchen and the BBQ, Victoria who 'lived' in the markets, Richard who had rare opportunities to spend all day with 5 year old Cecilia, and who taught her to dive in your pool, and last of all, 'moi', who, having fracture my shoulder 5 days before we left the uk, had chance to rest and be waited on. So, from a very happy and relaxed H. family, thank you, and much luck in your venture. With very best wishes, Jean H.

We had a wonderful five days at Maison Maitre - 5 STAR

A beautiful property tenderly restored to its former glory (it was once the Mayor of Bram’s residence). A lot of time has been taken to get things just right, the décor and furnishings are lovely and welcoming, a place to truly relax.

The local area has so many special sights, markets, castles & wineries, not to mention the delicious fresh produce! We ate extremely well, the village has everything you need (butcher, bakery & supermarket) and the Maison has a large well-equipped modern kitchen. Of course there are many options if you would like to dine out, a Pizzeria, Thai restaurant, creperie to mention a few.

The area is a bargain hunters paradise, there are many antique/vintage shops selling some beautiful things, you could spend days just wandering around the shops.

And then there is the Maison Maitre’s pool to laze about when you just feel like staying put.

A wonderful holiday, we’ll definitely be back! Thanks!

Wonderful holiday in Bram - 5 STAR
Wonderful family holiday in Bram. We stayed here for 5 nights to explore Southern France (Languedoc-Rousillon region), and the surrounding medieval towns and villages. Flew into Toulouse and had about a 40min drive to the chateau/maison maitre, and was very easy to find. The maison maitre was beautiful, it has been restored to it's original glory, and the attention to detail from the owners is evident everywhere, it felt like you had gone back in time. Paul and Petra were on hand with any questions we had, and gave plenty of recommendations for sights to see in the surrounding area. Bram is a nice medieval town, walking distance to the canal du midi, and lots of cycling routes close by. Great village market on Monday's (not to be missed!). A highlight of the trip was the fantastic Pizza shop just around the corner from the maison!! We did a number of day trips to surrounding villages, with one of the main day outs being to Carcassonne (25mins drive).

Wish we had longer. We would certainly recommend staying here, and hope to come back again soon.
